RJM Acquisitions – My Bad Experience
“Fight Back Against Harassment By Bill Collectors from RJM Acquisitions”

RJM Acquisitions trampled all over my credit. My score went down 150 points and I thought all hope was lost, until I learned how to get them off my credit!

It all started with credit card debt. I’d put a lot of expenses on my card leading up to the holidays, including gifts for my kids and my wife. At the time, I guess I wasn’t ready to really admit just how tight finances were. I figured that as long as we could have Christmas, things would be okay.
Unfortunately, I soon found myself unable to make the payments on my credit card. I had plenty of other expenses to worry about, so I kind of let the credit card debt slide. After that, it was only a matter of time before the credit card company sold my debt to a collections agency called RJM Acquisitions.
Like all collections agencies, RJM Acquisitions (aka RJM Acq LLC and RJM Acquisitions Funding LLC) buys debts in bulk from creditors for pennies on the dollar. RJM agents only get paid when the debts get paid off, so of course they are going to do everything in their power to get you to pay.
This normally includes sending threatening letters, making disruptive phone calls during dinner and at night, and even contacting your employer. I can’t imagine who would want to work at a company where these nasty tactics are considered a normal, acceptable part of doing business!
When I was first contacted by RJM Acquisitions, I tried working out a payment plan with them. However, I noticed that they kept adding fees and interest to my account, even though I was making payments! It seemed really unfair to me.
I had never entered into any agreement with RJM Acquisitions. My credit card debt was sold to them without my consent or knowledge. So what right did they have to impose fees on me? The situation seemed so unfair to me that I simply didn’t want to deal with RJM Acquisitions at all.
For months, I would just throw away all of their threatening letters, unopened. I learned to screen my phone calls so that RJM Acquisitions couldn’t get me on the line and disrupt my time with my family. I didn’t like my kids to see how upset I became whenever I talked to them on the phone. I got pretty good at ignoring them and pretending everything was fine.
However, in the mean time my income improved a little, and I decided I wanted to get a newer car for my wife to drive. The one she had was just awful. I can’t tell you how many times I had to go pick her up from some parking lot or another after that car seized up.
I’m pretty good at auto repairs, but it was obvious that the car wasn’t worth fixing anymore. I was nervous that the car would have its final, catastrophic break down at any moment, and my wife would be stuck at home with no transportation to her job.
I knew my credit wasn’t perfect, so I requested a copy of my credit report before I started car shopping. I was shocked to discover that my credit score was barely above 500. I saw multiple collection items from RJM on my report, and I knew that I couldn’t show a credit report like this to any lender and still expect to get a decent loan.
Since we really needed that car, it seemed like my only option was to work with RJM Acquisitions again and try to pay off my debt. It really sickened me to do that, because I still hated those extra fees they’d added and felt that they were really unfair. But I knew I needed to get over myself and do whatever it took to take care of my family.
When I tried to contact RJM, it was impossible to find anyone remotely reasonable to talk to. I told them I was now willing to pay off the debt, but they still refused to work with me. It was really strange.
I thought they would be smug and happy that I’d finally given in to their hounding and was willing to pay, but instead they treated me like something that they’d scraped off the bottom of their shoe. They were done with me and ready to throw me away!
I tried to do some research on RJM, but I couldn’t even find a website for them. Odd, considering they are one of the largest collection agencies out there. I did learn about the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in the course of my research.
It seemed to me that some of the tactics RJM used against me were really questionable, and could very well be in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I still didn’t know what to do about it though!
Eventually I confided in a friend of mine. Because I knew he had gone through a similar credit problem, I hoped that he would understand and not judge me for my own problem. True to form, my friend was very understanding and kind.
He told me about Lexington Law credit repair service, which had helped him restore his own credit. He said that Lexington Law is one of the oldest and most reputable credit repair law firms in the country, and I could get a consultation with them for absolutely free.
I guess my friend really wanted to make sure I would call Lexington Law, because he then proceeded to tell me all of the terrible things that could happen to me if I didn’t step up and take care of my credit problem immediately:
-Collections. One collection item from RJM Acquisitions can lower your credit rating 100 points.
-Judgments. Credit judgments stay on your credit report for 10 to 12 years.
-Liens. Creditors may be able to place liens on your home or property, enabling them to force you to sell in order to pay your debt.
-Repossessions. Credits may be able to seize your assets and auction them off to pay your debt.
-Wage garnishments. In some cases, a court can authorize creditors to take money directly out of your paychecks.
-Bankruptcy. If your debts get completely out of control, you may need to declare bankruptcy, which will haut your credit report for up to 15 years.
If you end up with collections, judgments, or a bankruptcy on your credit report, your credit score will be in the toilet for years! Not only will you be unable to get new financing for a home or car loan, you will also be unable to get a new job. Many employers run credit checks on their employees before hiring.
I trusted my friend’s advice, so I called Lexington Law the next day. After my failed attempts to communicate with the rude agents of RJM Acquisitions, it was such a great feeling to be able to talk to a kind human being about my debt.
The Lexington Law representative actually LISTENED to me. She didn’t pressure me at all or try to aggressively sell her company’s service. Instead, she was friendly and professional, and made me feel like she really cared about helping my family get our new car.
She explained that Lexington Law has a no-risk refund policy, so I decided to sign up.
After just 30 days, I started receiving letters from the credit bureaus showing that my collections items had been deleted. Finally, I was getting some mail that I actually wanted to open! I loved receiving these letters because it proved that Lexington Law’s service worked, and also that my credit was steadily improving.
As a matter of fact, my credit score rose 106 points in just two months! I was finally able to get that new car for my wife. Her car is actually nicer than mine now! Plus, I feel more confident and less stressed knowing that my credit report is clean.
I’m so happy that Lexington Law was able to get all traces of RJM Acquisitions removed from my credit report. My only regret is that I didn’t contact Lexington Law sooner.
If you ever find yourself being hounded by collection agencies, I hope that you will learn from my example and turn to Lexington Law right away!
